DAPITAN CITY -- Defending champion Davao Region secondary booters will try to keep their crown while the secondary cagers will try to make history in separate finals matches set Saturday.

"It's a great challenge to face Cebu in the finals for the second time. I believe they are out for revenge. Cebu has bigger players but we we've got the speed. The players' skills of both teams are equal though. We are going to defend our title. We will go for gold," Lalas said in an interview with Sun.Star Davao.
He said this despite the absence of injured defender Arnel Casil of Compostela Valley.
Over at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention gym, the Nestor Sorrosa-coached Davao stunned National Capital Region (NCR), 98-79, in the semis.
Assistant coach Roger Rabago, said, "The Lord is good giving us the victory. NCR was bigger than us. Our players were able to grab steals that were converted into points. The boys were determined to win so they played hard against those giants."
