Fulham’s good behavior rewarded with European spot

LONDON (AP)—Fulham will be competing in the Europa League thanks to its good behavior on the pitch.
UEFA gave the English an additional spot in the competition because they led European football’s fair play rankings.
And Fulham finished the season as the highest-placed club in Premier League that did not qualify for Europe.
UEFA delegates assess teams for yellow and red cards, positive play, respect for the opposition and match officials, plus behavior of fans and team officials.
Fulham was beaten by Atletico Madrid in the 2010 Europa League final.
Tottenham qualified by finishing fifth, along with League Cup winner Birmingham and beaten FA Cup finalist Stoke after winner Manchester City qualified for the Champions League. -yahoo
