The United Football League (UFL) will expand by up to 20 clubs and has already sent out a call for new teams in the coming 2012 season.

UFL media officer Coco Torres said deadline for interested football clubs to seek a slot is on August 12 since they are going to add up to 10 teams in each of the two divisions.

Torres said aspirants must email their roster of 25 players and applicants must also send in details like club name, history, owners and area.

Kaya Cignal’s 2011 UFL Season Review

Kaya solidified its position as one of the top four clubs in the LBC United Football League with a 2-1 victory over Green Archers Orient Freight in their final game at the University of Makati Football Stadium.
The club started the season with so much promise before falling flat in the final run towards the championship.
It was a prosperous five months for the club after constructing one of the finest line-ups in the league consisting of UAAP winning coach Anto Gonzales, Homeless World Cup winner Lexter Maravilla, UFL All-Stars’ Eric Dagroh, and Azkals Team Captain Aly Borromeo.
For quite some time, Kaya held a good title challenge against Global Smartmatic. Back then, the club was able to attract thousands of fans through its facebook page and an air of optimism pervade the management and players.
But Borromeo went abroad to conduct a tryout for the national team causing a downhill for the side. A draw against Loyola followed by a loss against Air Force Rider, Global Smartmatic and Army Fritz & Macziol IBM put to end their title run-in.
In March and April alone, the club acquired just four points in four consecutive matches – a league run where Kaya was unable to defeat the big sides.
However, the club made a huge comeback that silenced the critics with a big win against league Champions Air Force Rider who suffered their only loss in the league this season.
It was not a turning point for the club as they lost their next game against Global Smartmatic followed by a draw against Army Fritz & Macziol IBM.
The season wasn’t as good as the one in 2009 but the title had seemed within touching distance this year. A crown would have been good but instead Kaya were left fourth place with just 17 points. Source
