Barcelona's Xavi: Lionel Messi is better than Pele, Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff

The Barca playmaker has made a bold claim about his employers and star teammate, whilst also praising their Champions League final opponents for their approach to the game.

Xavi believes that Barcelona is the best team of the last 20 years, and also claimed that Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time.

The Blaugrana were in scintillating form again last season, winning a third consecutive La Liga title and collecting a second Champions League trophy in three years.

The Spain international spoke in an interview with German newspaper Bild, and was asked to comment on where he felt his team would be placed among the all time elite.

Manchester United's Wayne Rooney pleased with hair transplant

Manchester United fans will be seeing a different Wayne Rooney next season, not least because the forward has undergone a hair transplant.

The striker revealed to his Twitter followers that he was fed up of going bald at 25 and headed down to the Harley Street hair clinic in London to instill some life into his follicles.

“I was going bald at 25, why not [have it done?]," he said. "I'm delighted with the result.

“When it dies down you will be first to see it," he added to his followers. "Anyone recommend any good hair gel?"

Wife Coleen was one of a long list of people to congratulate the England striker, adding that she had no say in the matter.

"Wayne's had his hair done His own decision, not me asking him like a lot [of people] are saying! Pleased for him and it will look great," she said.

Rooney’s United team-mate Rio Ferdinand couldn't resist getting involved too.

“Just don't go down the wearing an alice band route!" he joked to Rooney. "You'll be doing Head & Shoulders adverts soon!" Source

Man Utd's Ferguson warned over 'best referee' comments

LONDON, England - Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson received a warning from the Football Association on Tuesday after being charged with improper conduct for calling Howard Webb "the best referee in the country."
FA regulations make it clear managers are not allowed to comment on referees before a game, regardless of whether the statements are positive or negative and the FA said it wanted to use Ferguson's case as a warning to other managers.
