Teen Azkals make 2 goals though winless at AFF U16 in Laos

The Under-16 national football team managed to score two goals in separate games though they were unable to win a match in the ASEAN Football Federation U16 Championships in Vientiane, Laos.

The Teen Azkals' first goal came from Ryu Nell Fegidero in the 11th minute of the game against Cambodia last July 8. Fegidero, who hails from Bacolod, also got a red card in the 90th minute of that match.

According to the AFF account of the game, Cambodia scored in the 7th minute but the Teen Azkals “were not affected by the early strike and launched right back into attack mode. Their efforts paid off within four minutes when Fegidero scambled in a close range shot."

AFF U16: Philippines 0-5 Singapore

VIENTIANE (10 July 2011) – Singapore scored a second stunning victory today to install themselves as one of the favourites in the ongoing AFF Under-16 Championship here. They followed up their sensational 5-0 defeat of Vietnam two days ago with a smashing 5-0 win over the Philippines at the National Sports Complex tonight.
With tonight’s win, the Singaporeans, physically advantaged and certainly not short of skill, are in a stronger position at the top of Group B. They now have six points, two clear of Cambodia who forced a draw with Myanmar in an earlier match today. Two days ago, Singapore whipped Vietnam 5-0 which means they have now scored 10 goals in just two games.
“The more important factor is that the players play to their ability,” said Dejan Gluscevic, the chief coach of Singapore.
